Lamb of God bassist John Campbell and drummer Chris Adler recently sat
down with peta2 for an exclusive video interview (

vegetarians share their hardcore opinions on all things animal rights.
Chris discusses why he decided to give up eating all animals: "We were
on tour and saw a chicken truck go by with these chickens that were just
bleeding ... it was disgusting." John hopes that KFC CEO David Novak's
money makes him comfortable in hell, and says, "Some of the most
disgusting things you'll see is when corporations feed people, because
they're bottom-line-minded." Both urge viewers to "think for yourself,
think about what you eat, and try a little compassion." For more

Okay so what are Lamb of God then, if not death metal?

Lamb of God are just thrashy metal or metalcore.

And they're NOT vegetarians. Two members are. That is MORE than balanced by the fact that the singer is a masterfull grill chef, and cooked for the majority of the bands during the ozzfest tour.

They even were on Uranium once where they filmed from a backyard BBQ, and all the members and julia ate sick marinated ribs, chicken, and beef.

and then julia followed it with a cup of some guy's jizz, waited an hour and then shat ribbles into a paper bag and dropped it off a building with ICP!

So you admit seeing that episode!

I hate to get into it, but metalcore is about the broadest genre of the all according to most of the people on this site. It seems to me that metalcore is just a category for 'tr00' metal fans to put new bands in that they dont like.

Lamb of God are metal...plain and simple

Everyone has a different definition for metalcore, but noone's says anything about the actual music. Genre's mean practically nothing this day and age in metal, when everyone is blending their styles.

Frankly, I dont see what people have against bands labeled metalcore on here. In all seriousness, whats wrong with bands like Lamb of God, KsE, Unearth, Shadows Fall and the like?

Hahahaha, yeah it certainly does. Because I dont see anything musically wrong with any of them. I can see why maybe you wouldnt like some of the clean singing in KsE or Shadows Fall, or the hardcore yelling style in Unearth. But most of us are musicians here, and I dont see any reason to dislike them for what they play.

i dont even listen to metal much anymore but ive never been able to stop playing it ! its just how i like to play ,those bands are just playing how they like to play no sense in bashing them for that!

lamb of god them selves would be the first to tell you that they are NOT a death metal band. I've known them all personally for a long time, and theyve always just done what they do, and for the record, last I knew, none of them really listen to all that much extreme metal any more. If that was YOUR job, would you?

That makes perfect sense. It's something I've always thrown around in my head but never been able to correctly articulate. I disagree with your aversion to "inbreeding" (hahaha) however. I think the blending of genres is quite necessary. Hell, where would music even be if it wasn't for it? Metal certainly wouldn't exist at all.

Unearth does in fact suck. they have one decent breakdown amongst many shitty songs. Lamb of God is fucking awesome, no matter what anyone says, but they most certainly are not death metal. Lamb of God deserves the credit they have attained, they are phenomenal musicians. music isnt what you believe in or if you are a pussy for animals, its about being a talented musician capable of writing solid songs. they have only gotten better with time, and continue to get better. i cant wait for a new album.
