BIG ROCK CANDY MOUNTAIN AGE 6 |
mortician makes me laugh...i cant help it
their kick-ins are ludicrous...fleshripper in particular |
what the fuck is a kick-in? |
I should mention I'm a drummer and playing any stringed instrument is the same thing as trying to solve a Rubic's Cube to me. |
Back in like 8th grade one of my friends taught me how to play some Smashing Pumpkins song (Zero I believe) on drums for some crappy band he was trying to put together. |
first song i figured out was Exodus- Fabulous Disaster |
prolly green day
on drums |
my cousin showed me how to play some metallica riffs on guitar when i was a kid, but never a whole song.
i can't remember the first thing i learned on bass. something easy. |
Sex Pistols - "Pretty Vacant"
Hey, what do you want, I was 15. |
think it was led zeppelin's "heartbreaker" minus the solo
then moved onto metallica |
smoke on the water,on an acoustic with 1-string. |
my first was The Trooper boy Iron maiden.... I never too the five seconds to learn the solo though.... |
Kiss - Heaven's on Fire
Such a simple song, I was 11 and could play the solo.
I don't remember what the first song I started learning was. I think the only song I can play start to finish including the solo is Death's Empty Words. I know tons of riffs from other songs, but I never bothered to learn an entire song, lol |
some metallica song on drums
For guitar, never the full song but parts of behemoth, amon amarth, the haunted, slayer |
My cousin got an electric guitar when I was 8 or so, and he taught me that riff in Come As You Are by Nirvana. I played it with my thumb hooked over the top of the neck... I can't believe I found that easier than using my fingers. So when I got home from his house the first thing I did was ask my dad if I could use his acoustic guitar and I started playing that 5 note riff over and over again. So my dad taught me the opening riff of Over The Hills And Far Away by Zeppelin, just up to the D chord right at the beginning, just a fraction of the whole riff. I got an electric guitar (a Dean Explorer copy) that Christmas and started printing off so much tablature, mostly for Metallica songs but occasionally some Zeppelin and stuff. |
Im pretty sure the 1st song I learned was on guitar, purple haze |
First song on guitar was writing the past by the automata.
First song on bass was Dig by Numetal enthusiasts Mudvayne. |

I was having a hard time thinking what song but I'm pretty sure it was iron man also. playing single notes not even chords yet.
the first song was "i touch myself" on the skin flute, nah just kiding, it was pantera's Breath, spit, walk, on the drums. |
"We Care A Lot" by Faith No More |
umm...wow, since its been almost 20 years, its hard to remember, but I think either 'hey joe' by hendrix or 'peace of mind' by Boston...then the first real song I learned was 'Im a viking' by yngwie.
On drums 'corporal jigsore quandry' by Carcass.
On keyboard, axel f from beverly hills cop, and the entire first mr bungle album.
On bass...pff anything, gimme a break its bass.
(then I heard primus, and said, well fuck him.)
