We'd like to welcome Nick Avila our new bass player to the band...He's already been to a couple practices so far and showed us that he's completely capable of playing our shit. His first show with us will be august 27th in Haverhill, MA with Amaranthus, DWW, Feed Us Fetus, ect...We'd also like to say thank you to dan for all his hard work and good luck. Also thanks to everyone else who tried out.

2ND GUITARIST POSITION!!!!
Just a few requirements we ask:
-good equipment=good tone. yeah.
-a positive/serious attitude (we're all a bunch of goofballs, but we're serious when we have to be)
-flexible schedule (lots of shows, weeknights, weekends) and ability to tour if we get a deal worked out.
-rhythm is the most important aspect, sure you can solo like yngwie (which is a bonus) but it doesn't really mean much to us if you can't play anything else.

We currently practice in Berwick, ME, but we may alternate between my house in Berwick and Needham, MA.

you can check out a newly recorded track that's unmastered @
http://www.myspace.com/porphyria

please contact us if you are interested and we will setup a tryout ASAP:
porphyria603@hotmail.com
or call tom @ 603.781.0993

thanks.

Nick is not only a nasty bassist, but he's got great stage personality. \m/

Hooray for Nick.

And I might consider trying out if you guys are going to practice at his place. Maine's a bit ridiculous. And my schedule's a bit of an issue, Wednesdays and Sundays are rather difficult to do shows on, since I have to close on Sundays and Wednesdays I work until 6. And I don't know how able I would be to tour.

where in needham, ma are you practicing? is it someones house?

toggletoggle post by i_am_not_me   at Aug 8,2005 7:04pm edited Aug 8,2005 7:04pm
I'd imagine it's Nick's house.

berwick is about 1 hour 15 min from boston...southern tip of maine. Near dover/nh area.

I don't think we'll be permanently practicing in Needham.

Man, if you were closer I'd do it in a minute. I've been thinking about finding a band to play guitar in during Pillory downtime for a while now, and I fucking LOVE porphyria. Move to boston, would ya?

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Sep 8,2005 3:23pm edited Sep 8,2005 3:26pm
ok we're still practicing at my house in maine currently. we may get a space in dover, nh...not positive yet....

damnit arrowhead, that would own.

GUITARIST'S, WE STILL NEED SOMEONE TO FILL THE 2ND SLOT. QUIT BEING ASSMANGLERS.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Sep 15,2005 9:44am
someone jam with us!

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Sep 15,2005 9:58am
when/where do you guys practice? I may come up and jam if it's on a night I can do (and not too far of a drive)

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Sep 15,2005 10:01am
that's the problem it seems, we practice too far away for everyone.

we practice at my house, about 1 hour and 15 minutes north of boston.

we are looking to get a practice space in dover, nh which is like an hour from boston but you can practice any time of night.

toggletoggle post by DreamingInExile   at Sep 15,2005 10:23am
well, I'm like 30 mins north of Boston, so that's not too bad, that puts me at about a 45 minute drive (30 the way I drive) Tom, Catch me on AIM and maybe we can figure something out.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Sep 15,2005 10:31am
I really dont' want to resort to paying for a practice space, but we need a place to keep the drums and other gear instead of having to bring it to and from practices all the time.

Agreed, paying for a place to play sucks.

If you want, I'll come up and jam one of these days. just catch me on AIM or give me a buzz and we can probably figure something out.

yeah, I chatted with Tom about figuring out a time to head up there and jam... it probably won't happen until the beginning of Oct, because of my lame ass busy schedule, and working around Shroud practices and shows (and I'm trying to get a new car as well)

toggletoggle post by i_am_not_logged_in at Sep 20,2005 3:48pm
If you DID permanently practice in MA then I'd be up for it. Even Dover's a bit far, though.

toggletoggle post by RustedAngel at Sep 20,2005 3:55pm
I really don't want to practice in mass unless we can have a place there that's FREE.
