New site? Maybe some day.
I'd like to start by saying, if you like Soilent Green and don't come to this show for any reason, you are a fucking faggot and should throw your record collection out your fucking window.
Lame faggot excuses about opening bands or driving or working or whatever are stupid and I hate you. If nobody comes see Soilent Green on their only New England show then they are pretty fucking gay. If that is the case, and Soilent Green decides to skip new england on their next tour, I will blame all you losers who skipped this show for whatever lame reason you come up with.
There is a club in Providence called The Green Room. Guess what is new about that club? They refuse to do metal shows anymore. Know why? Because you didn't go to the metal shows that did happen there, and they were quality shows. The only people who can complain about that is Sin of Angels and Anomolous, since they were the ones who booked the metal shows there. Club Giza will probably follow suit if Soilent Green cannot do well, and if you blame the club for making such a decision then you are a complete moron.

happy b-day skinny ray....see you tonight!!! |

if people dont show up for this show tonight & friday nights show we may not have this venue much longer for shows either so everyone should go & help keep this place open for shows instead of dj & hip hop shit... |

I'm home from the show now. |
pictures uploading.
internet is down at my place and I'm down the street.
I need to get home and go to sleep. |
I had a good time here...
Kubrick played well, Sarah obviously scared the sound guy and I caught Blue smokin' a bowl. Good set guys.
Watch Them Die...the vocalist had the hots for one guy in the crowd and was giving him all sorts of looks and crotch grabs
Into the Moat was great even without a vocalist...I love technical hardcore though, sorry everyone...oh and the rev ruined hardcore again at the end of the set. You can thank him here:
A Perfect Murder was pretty horrible. And he was really whiney about the fact that no one liked them. Get a life, man, it just wasn't your show. There are plenty of places that'll go nuts for moshy mosh...just not tonight.
To be perfectly honest, I never really got into Soilent Green. But after seeing them tonight, I probably will.
peace

my first time hearing soilent green last night...
the music was cool...good fast/blast beats mixed well with a sabbath feeling groove.
to me, the vocals made it seem like any hardcore band though.
good overall still, but they'd be incredible with a different singer or even if this one just got more creative. |
cool pics of the club. nile should play there |

if not liking that dude's singing makes me dumb, then i guess i am...just didn't do it for me |
thank\'s for showin people ,all 60 of ya . sweet fuckin club with sum kick ass a.c. |
Aside from one pole right in front of the stage it was a pretty nice place. |
so will there be more shows booked at this club
probably not. turns out people dont really care about good shows. ESPECIALLY if there is only one date on the tour in new england. |
good to see soilent again |
yea how did this show go? |
all the bands sounded really good awsome pa but to much of a dance club feel |
case and point...green laser light pointed to the right of the stage pretty much at all times |
Hi guys. I just got back from the show in hartford. HARTFORD IS IN NEW ENGLAND. WHAT'S THIS "ONE DATE IN NEW ENGLAND" BULLSHIT? |
hah. i had no clue there was a ct date. anyway, why the hell would you go to that one? the one in rhode island needed you a lot more. |
I was working last night. it's a 2 hour drive to Providence for me. I zipped down to the webster as soon as I got out of work, and when I got there I thought I had missed them, until I ran into Ben and said "I just missed you guys", and he said, "We're about to play". there wasn't nearly enough turnout there, they sure as hell needed me there badly enough. |
fair enough. well its official. it doesnt matter how good a show is. everyone is gay. |
when did people become to cool to go to shows? where are all the people who don't post on this site on the nights that national bands play a venue other than the palladium? what the hell? |
they're staying home wearing their sister's pants, listening to metalcore, and styling thier hair. |
I would've loved to have gone but I just live to far from PVD to afford the gas along with the drive back home drunk. I don't need to go back to jail.
Soilent Green has always played either the Middle East or the Palladium in the past and the shows always did good. Why didn't they come here this time?
I don't think that the middle east would book some of the opening acts they had this time around. i don't remember which bands were which, but two of them would have drawn 'violent' crowds here |
the openers were aperfect murder, into the moat, and watch them die. what do you mean that they would have drawn violent crowds? |
Soilent Green was awesome, I didn't care for those other bands on the tour. One of them was just embarassing to watch.
Raising Kubrick was really good, they are one of those bands who (in my opinion) need a big sound system for what they do to really come through. It really makes their big parts sound big, which sometimes fall flat at places without the full sound system. |
well...id say that 60 people for this show is actually pretty damn good, i mean most of the bands on this show arent very popular, and you know that no matter who plays in providence, unless its slayer about 10 kids are going to be there. i saw dead to fall at as220 with about 50 kids there, red chord and misery signals at the green room with about 50 kids there. these shows have to play in mass to get a good turn out especially on a weeknight, its not the bands fault, or the club, or the fans. your all gonna hate me for this but id have to say that even though brian went to this show and i could have had a ride, paying 12 dollars to see 2 bands that i like, one being kubrick who i see about once a month, and one being into the moat who i saw at metalfest 2 months ago... for 12 bucks its just not worth it to sit through 3 other bands that i dont like. |
i think you have a horrible point. |
i thought all the bands sucked except for Soilent Green and Rk.
2 out of 3 isn't bad |
I tried to show up late because aside from Kubrick I didn't want to see any of the openers and I knew if I sat through them all I'd fall asleep at the show and probably on the drive home as well. I got there early and ended up sitting through two bands anyway, but Soilent was great as usual so it was worth it.
Maybe I'd've showed up early enough for Kubrick if they'd STOP MOLESTING ME IN PUBLIC CONSTANTLY TO NO END!!!!! |
raising kubrick: they played a really short set for all the time that they had to play. they also didn't really move around all that much on the stage. I'm assuming that they were scared of the mummies.
watch them dir: wow, what an incredibly weird band to see live. I saw them at NJMHF 2003 and they weren't that good on the main stage. thir new CD is a lot more old school thrash than the last CD. They also left out the weird monotone, mike patton type computer talking vocals even though there were 3 mics up on stage. they even left them out of the old songs. that was unfortunate. the singer gets into a zone on stage and points/flexes/gestures with a blind eye.
into the moat: they were missing their bass player. this was the worst that I've heard them sound in the 3 or 4 times I've seen them. At metalfest, they were on point with everything. here, it wasn't. they played all tracks that I knew, but it was had to pick them out some times.
a perfect murder: the new CD sounds like they swallowed a clutch CD. I remember back a year ago when they were a hardcore band. they still played old songs, but they sounded a lot more rocky. they ended with time bomb. maybe people same along. at one point, the singer was up on the bar, but that didn't last for long.
soilent green: I swear, ben could front any band and they would rule, even etallica. he does the same exact live vocals on the stage with goatwhore and SG no matter what the CDs sound like. If you have yet to pick up the mew soilent green, the vocals are more "rocky" and from the limited ammount that I've listened too, there aren't many stoner parts. they would have played another songs at the end, but people weren't really moving around for them "I'm moving around more and I'm a cripple" |
