Im not posting this to start drama, but i just got this weird fucking message in my bulletin on myspace...anyone know anything about it?






On Broken Wings are good friends of ours, and they need our help. Jonathan is in a jam so please read the news below and if there is anything you can do to help out, it would be greatly appreciated. Repost: Recently On Broken Wings played a show in Lousiville Kentucky. Apperently the venue was getting destroyed and the club was getting fed up. During On Broken Wings set Jonathan made some typical comments like "Fuck this place up" thing that mean dance hard, have fun, to us. Jonathan also throw a mic stand wich was not intended to hurt anyone however it did hurt someone. I don't know who it hit but apperently he is an awesome dude and isn't pressing charges and is even trying to back jonn up. So Jonn spent a couple days in Louisville jail, he recently got out on bail with a court date set for July 8th. Again if you know Jonn then you know that he has nothing but friends. No money, no home. Just us. Jonathan can not afford a decent lawyer to represent him in court. He is being charged with wanon endangerment of the first degree wich is a felony, and if convicted he will go to a federal prison. I am not asking for a free hand out. But if you are friends with Jonn Blake, or want to see ON BROKEN WINGS or SHERE KHAN in the near future, and have a ANYTHING TO SPARE. please help him out.

Jonn has no home, has no job, and lives to put on shows for people that like his band. He is broke for what he does, and now hes going to jail for what he does. If theres anything that you can do to help, it will be greatly appreciated.

well, I for one think this does kinda suck for the guy. There's a certain element of danger that comes with the territory of Hardcore shows. Sometimes shit gets too out of hand but no one should have to go to Federal Prison for participating in or playing a show.

The label hire him a lawyer? I am guessing you have no idea how expensive that is. Clubs are kind enough to allow bands to play at their establishments and they get repaid by some douche bag telling some dickheads to 'fuck this place up', why does hardcore always try to act like it's so big on respect and then do stuff like throw mic stands at the crowd and instruct people to fuck places up?

ps: jonathan's a nice dude too. usually vry quiet. I'm sure this is going to be long, drawn out, and is going to cost a lot of $$$, but in the end, nothhing (except maybe probation).

Getting arrested for inciting a riot and assaulting someone is alot different then getting arrested because someone else was doing drugs in an alley way.

Anyone with a brain knows that if you throw a mic stand into a crowd, you just might hit somebody.
My old band used to attack our audience all the time. Mic stands, chairs, cinder blocks, and various other heavy objects were all thrown at people.
The difference was that our crowd not only was cool with that, they expected it. People would ask our singer to autograph things they'd been hit with.

I guess my point is, don't attack your audience if your audience is a bunch of pussies who like bands like On Broken Wings.

Oh, and as for the cops getting involved, if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Throwing mic stands that belong to the club is going to piss off the club owner and he might just call the cops on you.
If you're not slick enough to get out of there before the cops find you, too bad for you.
We played several violent shows where the cops were pulling into the venue just as we were getting the fuck out of there.
