Cannon powershots are nice for a point and shoot. I have an S200 (it's older) and it takes decent photos. nothing fancy, but it's got decent options too. I think RustedAngel has a powershot, but I don't know which one he's got.

A400 is what ra has, I think.
just go to best buy and play with them all. basically 99% of the parts in all digital cameras are made from the same place. the only ones that stand out in the p/s world as truly different parts is/was the sonys (until they OEM'd their sensors). now all the sonys have is the fact that carl zeiss makes their lenses.
of course the canons are smaller and more ruggid which sony lost some of the market share too. |
|
you need to find the sony and get it working for our CA trip |
|
I got one of these puppies at Target for like $150, nice puppy *pet-pet*.
If you want mega-high resolution for print work though you might wanna go 5 megapixels or higher |
|
hey. i have one of those. don't know if it works though. i bought it from somone for 10 bucks. i think it needs a battery or something. |

$10? you must live around drug addicts that needed a fix.
on a p/s camera, the sensor is only 1/1.8" (or 7.18 x 5.32 mm) which means packing 5mp into that space, the inherant noise from photo receptors being so close together makes it not really matter that it's 5mp cause you see noise when you blow it up.
the sensor in my camera are:
23.7 x 15.5 mm @ 4.1mp
and
23.7 x 15.5 mm @ 6.1mp
so at 4mp spread over 3x the area, you get a cleaner image.
anyhow, I would figure out what you want to do with the camera. typically, for magazine/CD art/web work I shoot at 2mp.
for important things with cropping 4mp.
for promo-shots, I shoot RAW and highest jpeg.
I rarely personally print things, but I have pushed 6mp to 20"x30" and it looked ok. |

i know it's a powershot but not sure what model it is. i'll check it out tonight and post what type it is tomorrow. after taking so many "awesome" pics at the MD death fest with my disposable, i think it's time to get that powershot working. everybody needs a fix'n. |

i finnally bought a battery for the thing the other day. the low battery light keeps going on so i guess i need to buy a charger too. it's a cannon powershot S200. for 20 bucks it's still a pretty sweet deal. just gotta figure out how to use the thing. |
|
i finally got my crackhead camera to work. it's a cannon powershot S200. i'm pretty psyched with it. all it needed was a charger 30 bucks, a battery 30 bucks, and a disk reader 20 bucks. |

I have a digital camera, if any girls need myspace pictures call me up! |
