Any idea if ZEKE is still opening these shows? I've been a Zeke fan since their inception...

toggletoggle post by Kinslayer at Apr 20,2005 8:14am
Oh fuck, nevermind. I just did some research. Monster Magnet...what the fuck...

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Apr 20,2005 9:01am
Anyone from the south shore going? I havent seen Motorhead since 98 and I am starting to overcome my paranoid fear of humans, I think I can go.

toggletoggle post by Timma at Apr 20,2005 10:20am
oh come on, no monster magnet? SPACE LORD MOTHA FUCKAAAAAAA. *end intense sarcasm*

yeah, i might quite possibly go. never seen motorhead before.

toggletoggle post by Josh_Martin at Apr 20,2005 10:33am
I want to go. Depends if I have money that day.

Monster Magnet is not playing this show. I know it says they are, but they aren't.

toggletoggle post by Timma at Apr 20,2005 10:33am
i'm ah tim? i met you with pete (blue) at spikes when aganihm played their last show and again at last years ozzfest in the parking lot.

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Apr 20,2005 10:35am
oh okay, sorry.

toggletoggle post by Timma at Apr 20,2005 10:36am

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Apr 20,2005 10:36am

toggletoggle post by Boots wtf at Apr 20,2005 10:36am
monster magnet would've been awesome to see with motorhead.

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Apr 20,2005 10:37am
Remember when Monster Magnet's label had them do a video for Space Lord and they just made a video to make fun of Mace and Puff Daddy's video? That ruled.

toggletoggle post by Timma at Apr 20,2005 10:38am
hahaha, yeah it did. mad fireworks, cars, and uneccessary lights.

toggletoggle post by litacore   at Apr 20,2005 10:39am
'Spine of God' is a really cool album. That's Monster Magnet at the top of their form.

toggletoggle post by Joe/NotCommon   at Apr 20,2005 10:40am
I once tried getting Abhorred onto a Monster Magnet show in NYC, I got a polite refusal of my request. I was surprised I got a reply at all.

toggletoggle post by coldnorthernvengeance  at May 1,2005 2:41pm
this wednesday...

toggletoggle post by Boots at May 1,2005 2:51pm

I photographed them a few months ago and my pics were in a magazine...anyhow, I think i\'m going..excited to see motorhead!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 2,2005 9:39am
I\'m still trying to get my camera into this place. why does it always seem the closer I get to home, the harder it is too shoot places?

toggletoggle post by ~Carina~ at May 2,2005 9:42am
because you don\'t listen to me...

toggletoggle post by timma at May 2,2005 10:23am

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 4,2005 9:19am

toggletoggle post by Kinslayer at May 4,2005 9:30am
Anne: I'm not 100% that I can go yet. I'm supposed to work until 9pm tonight so I'm trying to find someone to cover for me.

If I do go it'll just be the 2 of us in my truck unless I can get in touch with Matt and he'll drive in which case you'll be riding with two NAZIS!!!!! OH NO!! ;) I'm kidding of course! But yeah, I'll find out ASAP if I can go in which case you're more than welcome to ride with me...

toggletoggle post by ArmageddAnne   at May 4,2005 10:45am
Give me a call at the store if you're going....

toggletoggle post by ArmageddAnne   at May 4,2005 10:46am

toggletoggle post by ~Carina~ at May 4,2005 1:27pm
now i forget...
is it free to park in the lot?
i think so but i'm not 100% certain

toggletoggle post by swamplorddvm  at May 4,2005 1:37pm
I wan't to go. But you all know how it goes.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 4,2005 1:50pm
I don't think there is such thing as free parking on hampton beach.

carina's going to the show. I'm still waiting to see if I am or not.
*crosses fingers*

toggletoggle post by PBR at May 4,2005 2:06pm

toggletoggle post by ~Carina~ at May 4,2005 4:05pm

why are you being like that?
i put in a request through my contact and you did the same with yours...
then today i tried asking my guy to get you on but he said it was too late BUT he did give me tour manager's cell number and name...so we can call...no one on here will really care about my pics..
anyhow whatever you want

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 4,2005 4:15pm
being like what? I couldn't get a photo pass so you go shoot the show.
my "contact" wasn't much of one...

toggletoggle post by Kinslayer at May 4,2005 7:09pm

toggletoggle post by ArmageddAnne   at May 4,2005 9:32pm

they're moles and it's not that easy

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 5,2005 12:28pm
well, that show was pretty short (for me) and awesome... the club was filled up with what you would expect on a wednesday night in NH... and especially so close to seabrook. Lot's of bikers there too... One of my friends had a support your local nomads shirt on and some HAs kept looking, pointing and a couple times walking almost up to him. Funny thing, I recognized at least one of them and I think I went to highschool with him.

anyhow, all things aside, once carina got me in, it was great. the venue is super old... reminds me of an early 1900, later 1800 saloon. it's very open in there too.

recognizer: roadsaw.. chainsaw.. killsaw.. somethingsaw who does a show at a station that I don't listen to's band. I thought they broke up along ass time ago. I see jr (the singer last time I saw them) in portsmouth all the time. I missed them.

brand new sin: I've missed these guys on purpose before. It was like 3 years ago(?) when they opened a metalfest or fatcats show. they aren't really my thing at all... it's like rock-metal. but they are on CM and will have a new CD out soon. At one point, the singer asked if anyone had a copy of their old CD because he didn't have one and he was looking for one. I should had said that I have 3-4 copies at my station... their label sent me tons.

motorhead: so the wait for motorhead was like 30 minutes and then BANG. the wrestler triple h introduced them and then were off.

I've never seen motorhead before and it was pretty intense. Their music is just so upfront and in your face. Almost immediately, the crowd started to toss shirts and things on to stage. some one from in back would run up, grab it and pull it off the stage. At one point lemmy quiped "stop throwing your stuff up 'ere. I don't want it. I don't like you." in his thin limey accent. They played a bit heavey from the new CD inferno which lemmy so called "his" album. I think it was something like "have you bought my new album?" which makes sense cause he is basically the band, no?
I had taken a snap shot of the set list so I knew what songs were coming. granted, I would have loved to heard ace of spade and overkill, but carina and I left 1/2 way through the set. still, awesome songing after 30 freaking years!

toggletoggle post by Josh_Martin at May 5,2005 12:33pm
Rev, I wish I saw what you did. I got there late and saw the 2nd half of the set. They were playing Ramones when I walked in.
I'm pissed I missed all that stuff from Ace of Spades and Orgasmatron.
Still, seeing Motorhead play songs I've seen 'em play a billion times is better than no Motorhead.

Post the pic of the setlist please.

I believe we shot until Killers...
then tried to go to the skyboxes, but couldn't.. and ended up staying until tragedy.

from the frist 1/2, love me like a reptile was probably the best song, imho.

toggletoggle post by Josh_Martin at May 5,2005 1:23pm
Yeah, figures. I've never seen 'em play Love me Like a Reptile before. Never seen Over the Top either.

We got there wicked late and the box office was closed and dickhead at the door wouldn't let us in. Fortuantely you could hear Motorhead almost perfectly from the street so we hung out by the door for a couple songs and then someone with a brain finally came out and offered to take our money. We only had to pay half price too since it was so late.

It was good to hear Motorhead playing so loudly. The last few times I saw 'em was at the Pagaydium and no one is ever loud enough there.

toggletoggle post by ~Carina~ at May 5,2005 1:46pm
Hey Josh, i was asking the rev to look for you, since I don't think we've ever met (though I've photographed AC) and if you didn't have a ticket I was going to give you my extra one...i guess that's why we didn't see you...oh well next time

toggletoggle post by PBR at May 5,2005 1:56pm
Pretty ok show for a wed. night.

This was Recognizer's first show back. Brand New Sin was way too nu-metal for my tastes (and I'm pretty tolerant) .Motorhead was far too loud for the Casino. We stepped outside and listened from the parking lot and heard everything crystal clear.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 5,2005 2:01pm
I was outside for recognizer's set and I must say, it sounded A LOT better than when I heard them years ago.

and carina, josh was in AC when you shot them. I think that guy's name was john... people were yelling things about "john being so cute" at that show.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 5,2005 2:11pm
oh, also until josh introduced himself to me, I thought josh was someone completely different and that the guy who introduced himself to me as josh was actually named Ray since that what people were yelling at him in 2000 at the middle east. now, I know differently.

and the person that played drums at the 2003 SJR show we saw I don't remember being john (kevorkians angels).. so he either was another john or wasn't a john at all it's another thing like the ray/josh martin thing.

toggletoggle post by Josh_Martin at May 5,2005 2:19pm
Carina, thanks for thinking of me.

People were calling me Ray???

That was Nate (Adolf Satan) on drums at the SJR show.
John Kozik (ex-Toe Tag, ex-Out Cold) played guitar at the SJR show. It would've been me but I was in jail.

"John being so cute" is a long, long running joke. He was the baby of the band. (I mean baby as in being young, not as in a pain in the ass crybaby)

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 5,2005 2:23pm
jc... ac's family tree is worse than a tennessee mountian folk

toggletoggle post by CNV at May 5,2005 2:31pm
They sounded better to me in the beginning of their set. The sound got muddy towards the end and you could tell Lemmy was getting pissed at the guy running the boards. The crowd was pretty interesting: Hell's Angel's bikers, skinny heroin addict punk rockers, skinheads, and plenty of fist banging long hairs...

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 5,2005 2:40pm
yeah, lemmy gave the "look of death" to him starting from, I think, over the top.

toggletoggle post by Josh_Martin at May 5,2005 2:42pm
The problem must've been with the monitors because they sounded fine to me.

toggletoggle post by PBR at May 5,2005 2:51pm
During the soundcheck, Lemmy was yelling at the Casino monitor soundman constantly. Apparently, the monitors weren't to Lemmy's liking, but the wall of noise that their soundman created was just fine. Wierd.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at May 5,2005 2:52pm
after seeing them... I'm super excited for superchrist to come back.
