The New York Post is reporting that the five members of the Brooklyn-based CANDIRIA won a $29 million verdict Tuesday (April 12) for injuries they suffered when a truck hit their tour van.

CANDIRIA were hurt as they traveled to a gig in Cleveland on Sept. 9, 2002, when a tractor trailer owned by Paige Transportation Inc. hit them near Buffalo, said attorney Daniel O'Toole.

The crash sent their van rolling over five to seven times, and all the members received injuries, attorneys for the band members said. The band still performs, but two injured members left.

The aftermath of the crash is documented on the cover of the band's latest album, "What Doesn't Kill You…", with photos of the band's demolished van.

toggletoggle post by litacore   at Apr 13,2005 10:19am
if they actually ever see a penny

appeals, countersuits, slimy lawyers, Law & Order reruns

this shit takes forever

$29MM divided by 5 = $5.8MM each (less some, of course, for their lawyer). Say goodbye to day-jobs. I need a nice accident/settlement like that. Of course with my luck, I'd come out of it like Chistopher Reeve or Terry Schiavo.

Metallica are deader than Venom's 1979 lineup>>

the filthy m word probably shit themselves with more frequency than they write a half way decent riff

their riff writing abilities died under a bus

Wow, good for them. Great dudes. They probably have to divide it more than five ways since there was a driver and whatnot, but yeah, set for life... once it all clears...

toggletoggle post by todayistheday at Apr 13,2005 4:29pm
it was probably their fault that they got into those crashes

toggletoggle post by BobNOMAAMRooney nli at Apr 13,2005 7:23pm

They'd be singing a different tune if they got hit with a Stan Hansen lariat

Canadaria suck...stupid maple leafers...oh wait

Candaria would be the best band if it weren't for like...30 or 40 thousand other bands that are way better
