You can book Spudnick's in Salem for free but the dude keeps all the money you make off doors and donates it to his church or something like that.

toggletoggle post by joostin at Jun 27,2003 2:57am
what's that fellows e-mail?(the sputnix guy)

toggletoggle post by blue  at Jun 27,2003 3:00am
yeah, what is that email...i dont care about making money if i can book for free....

toggletoggle post by sinistas   at Jun 27,2003 6:01am
http://sputniks.nip.net/

They should have booking email there. However, it may take a bit for them to get back to you.

"Sputnik's: The only Russian Venue On the North Shore"
why is my pet demon on every show?
where is this "stage" that they built (I didn't see it when I was there)?

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at Jun 27,2003 9:49am
o'briens, bills bar, the middle east, the linwood, the chopping block, the midway cafe, and the milky way do not cost anything to book at
plus people go to those venues

toggletoggle post by kellthevalkyrie  at Jun 27,2003 11:10am
go super ghetto style at The Living Room or The Safari Lounge in Providence! where the toilets aren't bolted to the floor! wee!

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at Jun 27,2003 11:33am
i use to book command presence back when I booked shows
have I met you before?

toggletoggle post by sinistas   at Jun 27,2003 12:20pm
I'd imagine that My Pet Demon is on the show because the drummer books it

toggletoggle post by kellthevalkyrie  at Jun 27,2003 4:42pm
joe - are you talking to me? i'm sure i've met you before...i must have. i can't picture who you are, though... i used to hang out at wood's house a lot and went to all the CP shows. and they all know you, so i *must* know you...i just drink at shows a lot and my memory of people is bad. heh.

hey if you're interested in a free booking try the well in portland, im working out a deal with them for july 25th, im not paying anything and i think i get half of the door, decent. waited like 8 months (no joke) of phone tag and e-mails saying they would get us in for a show and she finally e-mailed me saying that sometimes she lets people book their own nights. i think the website is www.porthaven.thewell.com or something like that... i can get you the actual website if you're interested, it's in portland, ME. i live in NH so it's not too far for my band, but if you live in connecticut or something... you're fucked.

toggletoggle post by blue  at Jun 27,2003 5:15pm
joe, id have to say that you do know kelly, she went to pretty much every cp show in existence.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jun 27,2003 7:11pm
book for free? the only places you're going to get for free are shitty bars and the only people who go there are townies and bar flies. break down and spend a buck. stop being lazy.

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at Jun 27,2003 7:16pm
actually those 'shitty' bars are the best venues
its not just townies who go to them
when bands play at o'briens people come who dig the bands playing, or the style of music in the case of the Bostons' Dead shows
same thing will happen with the chopping block and also that happens at the linwood and at bills bar

you just think that because you dont go to those shows

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jun 27,2003 9:21pm
no i just say so because whenever i picture a show at a bar (not including bills bar because i consider that a legit venue) all i can think of is the safari lounge or the tank and what useless piles of shit they are.

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at Jun 28,2003 1:28am
come down to the show on july 11th at o'briens
i think you will like that place
its hella fun

toggletoggle post by menstrual_sweatpants_disco   at Jun 28,2003 10:29pm
what's wrong with the tank?

.....ok just kidding.

toggletoggle post by kellthevalkyrie  at Jun 29,2003 9:17pm
i LOVE shitty bars! they *are* the most fun. safari lounge is my favorite...woooo! bill's bar in boston is a damn good time, too!

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jun 30,2003 12:52am
the safari lounge is a drum riser attached to a toilet. if you book a show there you are officially garbage (yes more garbage than jarrods)

toggletoggle post by DeOdiumMortis  at Jun 30,2003 1:22am
I think I'll have my next birthday party there.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jun 30,2003 8:10am
no chucky cheese, no me.

toggletoggle post by blue  at Jun 30,2003 1:28pm
note to self: book a show at the safari lounge.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jun 30,2003 1:51pm
book another all day fest there. you'll fill the place up past it's 6 person capacity.

toggletoggle post by kellthevalkyrie  at Jun 30,2003 7:49pm
oh, come on, you can get loaded for really cheap at the safari lounge! and that killer mural on the wall! and the fact that the pool table is next to the wall so you can't really play, i think every band should play there once so they know what a truely crappy venue is like. i don't know how many times i've said, "well, at least it's not the safari lounge..." it's so bad it's great!

but then, that's just me.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jun 30,2003 11:56pm
haha you know you've sunk low when you need the safari lounge factor to make something seem better. i spent about 15 min in that place and caugh 72 diseases.

toggletoggle post by joe/notcommon   at Jul 1,2003 7:49am
o'brien's rules
you can play golden tee while rocking out to whoever is playing BOSTONS' DEAD that month

I got a high score during Raising Kubrick, those guys are good luck
