New site? Maybe some day.
Thought I'd start a new thread since I moved the date...
DISENGAGED
RANDOM ACTS OF VIOLENCE
RAVAGE
DREADED SILENCE
Dee Dee's Lounge
297 Newport Ave
Quincy, MA
8pm, 21+, $5
Anyone want to make a flyer for this? Pretty please? |
Better check with Disengaged if they can still do it, nobody knew it moved and sometimes Beakey has family obligations on the weekend |
Ed didn't know anything about it, he is fine with the date, but brought up the Beakey thing.... deathtobeakey@aol.com |
balls, i'd love to see this but i'm going to cryptopsy in albany that night. i'm addicted to ravage. |
well done... Andy Dickcrawler will definitely make an appearance |

Its all good. |
good then. i don't have to make a different flyer |
And we're actually going to accomplish playing a show together. |
dont' get ahead of yourself |
Yeah, something is bound to happen. |
actually I think he called Regan a "master of evil"...maybe...doesn't really matter... he called a prominent U.S. politician a "master of evil" he deserves to be listened to |
Awesome. Your dad will hate us. |
that flyer is hilarious. i can fire you off a dreaded silence logo if you want it for the flyer. |
i hope andy dickcrawler treats my bandmates to a few crawls |
i thought last time at obriens was disengaged's last show moran..haha |

Get a fake like the rest of your underaged kind.
Go. Hookers dad will be there.
My ass just spit out baby food. |
bumps, it's what's for dinner |
a mild bump should be a bump that sends the thread to the middle instead of the top. what a crazy name. he died kind of young. |
the picture is kind of blurry. looks like a d, but milo makes more sense. i have a friend named milo. |
Oh my god... is that Bertha Butt? |
I dont know. I typed bump into google and that what I got. |
Damn. If so, I want that. Jimmy Castor Bunch rules. |
good thing there are no other shows that day WTF |
Ah. Maybe both shows will be packed to the gills. |
These shows are in different states and have totally different types of bands. I doubt either show is going to affect the draw of the other one. |
Damn I hope my old man shows up. |
So do I. Hes gonna hate you. |
I hope he brings that brochure for the Total Gym.
i watched walker texas ranger the other day. it was a great episode. |
There all great. Conan brought back the Walker Texas ranger lever back the other day. Fucking awesome. |
conan was doing that all week in honor of hooker's dad's birthday |
They should one were its a scene of some guy in a wheelchair and all these thugs are around him but pretending to be nice and giving the guy bread so he can feed the pidgeons and then the thug kicks the pidgeon. Awesome. |
actually, shit. his birthday is the day after this. He needs to come to this. |
Can he get me a discount on a total gym. |
COP KILLAH! Better you than me. |
Alright, who wants to sneak me in? |
Done. Get in touch with Charlie before the show, we'll see what we can do. |
Nice. Charlie's staying with his brother down the street from my house, so I'll get in touch with him in no time. |
Did anyone ever print out flyers? |
I'm definitely coming to this one |
It was Sidney Poitia that convinced you. |
You really need to buy that sword. |
Ah the show is almost upon us... hopefully our fill-in bassist will learn a song or two |
apr 2nd a day of reconing |
our new bassist learned 2 songs out of 6. i'll most likely be playing most of the set on bass, barring a miracle at practice this week. |
Al seriously... your a dick if you thought I wasn't gonna see that. Yeah! I am pissed about that. |
At this point, Metalguy has worked very hard and has learned the songs apparently. Though he is probably still sore about me posting here... so he will probably stab me onstage. Go metalguy. His bass case is wet too... water seeped under the garage door. (Note to metalguy... no one is reading this but you and me...probably just me actually) lighten up...and go get your fucking shine box. |
Al Ravage said: he will probably stab me onstage. |
so this is probably Ravage's last show ever also? haha |
Vince looks like an ugly girl. |
like disengaged, every show is ravage's last show |
So, our drummer sprained his knee skiing the day. Which really puts a damper on his playing. But, being the trooper he is, hes still gonna play. This show is gonna rule. |
As long as he can still throw his drums across the club. You need that knee for torque. |
Can someone tell me around what time we're playing? Or... if it's been said already, sorry. I'm a lazy shit. |
yeah, that would help us out too |
I just emailed you all (Beakey, Andy, Al and Ken). Sorry I'm so late with the details. |
thanks for the email. 'twas quite informative. i am looking forward to the show. |
metal guy betta know those songs...ya hear me metalguy? I'm commin fa YOU! |
Meta Guy knows the songs... we are good to go... like Gary Busey in front of a line of coke and an open bible. |
im gonna be leaving the kc's tap show after throwing shrapnel, and SoA to try and make it in time for disengaged... hopefully ill make it |
If you try hard enough you will. |
"You're excited?
FEEL THESE NIPPLES!" |
who's coming to this tonight? i'm looking forward to this show. we have 2 new songs ready, one that is heavier and one a little more wussy rock. i can't wait to play them. |
also, good luck to all the bands playing in other parts of new england tonight. i hope those shows turn out great. |
Woo hoo! Just finished helping Megan move in. We're ready for some good music and lots of beer. |
i wanna come over!!!!!!!!!!!!1 |
i miss beer. i wish i could still drink it. |
will anyone be heading back to the brockton area after this show, or at least be able to drop me off in brockton (west side is right off of 24S)?
i can get to the show, but gots no way home. |
Oman!!!! WE ARE GONNA ROCK YO FACES!!!! YEEEEAAAH YEAAAHH!!! |
I'm getting my stuff packed for this. |
ya hear that? the rev is packing shit! |
Show was awesome! Disengaged sold out DeeDees tonight (and every other show they have played since the Ocean came out in early 2003).
Fuck you if you never saw them, they have been playing shows for over 5 years.
Dreaded Silence opened up and played some cool stuff, I haven't seen these guys in a bit, definately better when Ken only has to worry about vocals. Melodic heavy metal fans should check them out.
Ravage played second and were killer! I think this show was better then the time I saw them at Obriens, I think that was January's bostons dead show. New drummer and bassist seem to work out well. ROCK!
Random Acts of Violence was great, played some new songs I didn't know. Unfortunately something was up with one of the mics so only Hooker and Andy did vocals. Very tight like always, this band should be on the WBCN rumble but they aren't because it's gay and rigged and Beyond the Embrace sucks.
Disengaged played a set of hatefilled noise-punk-metal whatever you want to call it. They did it really well considering how fucked up they were. I love that band and I for one will miss them. |
Fun show!!! Thanks so much to everyone who came out and the bands who played. This was by far the best Dee Dee's show yet! |
Thanks to everyone who came and rocked the fuck out. I had an awesome time. I wish we had a little more time to play a few more songs, but what ever. Hell of a time. |
pictures will be up in a few minutes. |
This show kicked ass. The bands rocked, the house was packed, and there were chicks grinding and slapping each other's asses during Disengaged's set. What the fuck more can you ask for? |
Good show,
Dreaded Silence had a much more energetic set than the last time I saw them - the Sinistas one was rockin out and damn, they've got some good riffs.
We debuted the new line-up, didn't fuck up as much as we usually do (and if we did I couldn't hear it or wasn't paying attention), and it was great fun - Joe is quite the soundguy... he is probably the best soundguy we've yet worked with.
I missed a lot of Random Acts set because we were trying to get through the logjam at the door to get the equipment out, but I got to hear "unleashing" which is a great song and also their new instrumental in which they showcased the power of Phil...some good stuff...however, note to Phil... Bruce Dickinson says it "needs more Zil bell!"
Disengaged...well, it was a Disengaged show..and a Disengaged show with Charlie, at that. I wouldn't bet that it was their last, but... apparently it very well could be. Hearing those songs live for the last time brought back memories from many years in the past... like when we used to play with them out in skanky Sydneys in Lawrence... good times. |
Show was awesome. All the bands were great. Fucking A, thanks to eveyone that came. |
MUH FUCKIN CRAZY MUH FUCKAS!! |
last night was the most fun i've had in a while. thanks, reverend, for taking some excellent pictures of us. i didn't get a chance to say hi and thank you in person last night. the pictures look awesome.
met some cool people, including the infamous beakey. the bands were awesome. we had fun playing with our new bass player.
ravage kicked ass. their sets are always a fun time.
random acts of violence was incredible. one of the best thrash bands i've ever seen. hooker is a funny bastard.
disengaged was great. the song about the kid who used to be fat was my favorite.
i really liked the crowd there. lots of nice friendly people. thanks to jessica and joe for making it happen. we're looking forward to playing at dee dee's again next month with another great lineup of bands. |
"Bruce Dickinson says it 'needs more Zil bell!'"
hahahaahaha classic |
dreaded silence: I walked in during their set. I'm not sure how much of it I missed. for most of their set, they seemed to just be trying to fit on the stage (a feet the following bands couldn't do). and then, before the last 2 songs, then invited another member up on stage to play bass. they played 2 new songs that they have never preformed before too. I personally liked all the guitar/drum work, but the porcupine tree influenced vocals weren't my thing. I really like the more "opeth" leaning songs.
ravage: as with other times, I don't think that the vocals come out as well live as they do on the cd, but ravage brings the rock... and a lot of people. they have a new CD coming out too so there were a lot of newer songs that I didn't know. I was however able to sing along with some of the old songs that have creeped into my mp3 player.
random acts of violence: the second band of rockstarts. another night og the place filled with RAOV's fanclub. they played pretty awesome. drunk, rocking out. The new drummer fits right in with the band, removing his shirt right away to match the RAOV style.
disengaged: the set went over so much more smoothly than anyone would have ever thought. they had a bunch of people there for them that I've never seen before. probably locals from quincy. The song jimmy flynn had the edge removed since I guess mr. flynn lost the weight of a large medford lady (aka a lardy). the only "asshole" thing that these drunks did was not stopping at the end of their set and playing 10 minutes passed the end of their set the end of their set was a huge break down.. I think off the song bitch.. where audience members got in on the guitar playing and singing. Some moshing went down and I even saw joe(the sound mae)NC in the thick of it all thrashing out with his hands in the air. Charlie was on his back drunk on the ground and hooker got his guitar (still strapped to charlie) and played. I thought that he (hooker) was reaching in his pockets to grab something to cut the strings.. I was kind of let down when he just got a pick. Also, pegan megan somehow got a guitar and er and eric "the male model" abhorred were playing. |
Thanks again to everybody who came out to the show on Saturday. And the only people I recall grinding and slapping each other\'s asses was Paul O\'Brien and Shawnie Brando. |
I'd also like to apologize to Rob Teratism. |
Theres no need to ever apologize to him. |
Yeah thats true.
Also, UMASS Boston's newspaper is going to have an article about Disengaged, I will post it on RTTP once it is in my hands. |
Paul O'Brien is a bad motherfucker. |
When Dinosaurs attack.
Thanks to Hooker and that blonde chick for busting out the guitar licks at the end! |
shit was awesome. i thought it would be a good idea to go home and kill a bottle of jameson and a bottle of tanqueray. i'm still drunk i think. |
Hahaha...that\'s awesome. Remember that time you gave me a whole bottle of wine just to get me to leave your house the morning after that bash you had? |
I'd also like to thank Keith Richards for sitting in on guitar with us. Keith your a doll.
that is absolutely disturbing |
