i don't know, Babykiller isn't even that heavy of a song. i wasn't that impressed with it. Postmortal Corprophagia however is one of the most devastating songs i've ever heard.

There is no way to think of the absolute 5 best death metal songs, but the 5 most important to me are:

1. Disgorge-1st track off of Cranial Impalement; don't remember the name, but the first time I heard it I was immediately obsessed with guttural vocals.
2. Eternal Suffering-Echo Of Lost Words; the first "underground" brutal death metal band I got into. MSD has convinced me it has some of the heaviest riffs in any song.
3. Aborted-Meticulous Invagination; this was the first song I heard with a bass boom, or at least the first one I noticed. Easily one of my favorite death metal songs. That breakdown makes me wet.
4. Cryptopsy-Graves Of The Fathers; my favorite Cryptopsy song, with one of the grooviest fucking riffs ever. When I heard that album I was hooked on death metal.
5. Composted-Phallus Palace; yeah, it's my band but I don't give a fuck. Composted is the only band I've ever been in that I've always been satisfied with, so the first song we ever wrote holds extreme importance to me.

after years of playing music, when me and Ed wrote "Adversary of Mankind" (the best - and last - Maggot Feast song ever recorded)... i loved the song and was so fucking excited to listen to something i enjoyed that much knowing, i came up with those drum patterns, i wrote those lyrics, etc.

also, since i was already such a big fan before i joined the band, i had that feeling the whole time i was Scum Bitch....both playing my old favorites, and helping to write new shit.

i'm having alot of fun with Channel 62 right now....i've really been digging alot of old schhol grind/crust/powerviolence lately, so i was so psyched to start a band playing that style

Right on, there is nothing better than feeling truly proud of something you created from the ground up or helped form. As soon as the Composted EP is pressed, it will be the first CD I've ever been on that I am completely proud of.

Yup, that's the Disgorge track I picked as one of the top Death Metal songs. Those inhuman gutturals and twisted riffs were unlike anything I had heard before. Their two demo's changed my life when I was a youngster; I probably would have never done vocals in a band if it wasn't for Matti Way's influence.
