BLACK SABBATH and IRON MAIDEN will headline the 10th anniversary edition of Ozzfest, informed sources have told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. In addition, ANTHRAX's "Among the Living" lineup — featuring vocalist Joey Belladonna, guitarist Dan Spitz and bassist Frank Bello — is said to have secured a slot on the main stage at the festival, which is expected to kick off in mid-July.
According to unconfirmed reports, the Ozzfest 2005 shows will start later than the previous 9:00 a.m. kick-off time and will include more non-rotating slots on teh second stage.
Prior to headlining the 2005 edition of Ozzfest, BLACK SABBATH will embark on a short European tour, which will include an appearance at the U.K.'s Download festival (where they will headline the "Ozzfest" day on June 11). |

Ozzy needs to retire. |

I've never even seen sabbath live, but yeah, ozzy needs to lay down the bats and doves and water guns for good |
yeah, ozzy definitely can't hack it anymore |
Sabbath should just do a whole tour with Halford on Lead Vox |

they probably will |

it'll be sabbath, maiden, anthrax, maybe 2 other good bands, a bunch of metalcore/numetalcore bands, and a nu metal legend or 2, plus whoever won battle for ozzfest. |

I love the video for 'Trashed' |
Iron Maiden. Always worth seeing considering they don't really want to come to the states anymore. |
I'm going to have to be there to see iron maiden, without a doubt |
I saw Maiden on the Ed Hunter tour and they/it sucked hard. Adrian didn't play at the Orpheum. His dad died or something and he didn't do the Boston show. If you enjoy listening to good OLD live Maiden, you will notice how "out of gas" they play now. Their so-called "fan chosen set list was full of shitty songs from Virtual XI. Bruce going "YEAHYEAHYEAH" to Junior's Farm, Imean, Angel and the Gambler. It was pathetic. When Futurereal is the best song they play, along with plodding versions of the Trooper and Run to the Hills played, seemingly, at half tempo, it really sucks. Don't get me wrong here, I was/am a worshipper at the altar of Harris, but it was a total rip-off and like 50 bucks, too. Like the Sabbath reunion, it's good to see old bands if you never got the chance when they were in their prime, but don't be expecting a Beast on the Road-like experience. See maiden if you want your favorite band to let you down. On the other hand, I'd go to see the "good" Anthrax line-up alone. People love to hate old Anthrax, but they were better than your band, whoever you are. On the subject of Sabbath Vocalists. No record touches Heaven and Hell. Die Young, LAdy Evil, Wishing Well??? Gillan singing with Tony is cool, but the Born Again songwriting was just SO weak. Headless Cross is pretty good, for a screwy Sabbath record. I like Tony Martin for that "hard rock" sabbath sound. Don't get me started, though. Nothing I love more than six degrees of Graham Bonnet. |

Anthrax and Ozzy on No Rest tour was my first good concert. |
Belladonna rules!!! Down with Bush!!! |
Just the fact that that Anthrax lineup is being rumored is worth it |

i saw them(iron maiden) a year ago they kicked ass. did all there hits.
also everything was faster than the cd verisons aside from brave new world. for some reason they played it slower. the set list was very diverse from the different maiden albums. except only song from the blaze era. clans man.
Maybe they were just off that night you saw them. or maybe they just gassed up since the ed hunter tour. |

I'm guessing that Megadeth gets added and In Flames headlines second stage. |
Motorhead and King Diamond need to play this. |

if they got those bands, it would also be cool if they got judas priest again this year. they could have venom and celtic frost on the second stage. |

yeah but these 80's lineups don't always age like wine |
maiden makes this worth it. |
Just to let everyone know--There's an Ozzy box that's coming out. And the first (i forget the number) that are pressed will have a buy one get one free coupon for Ozzfest. So, whatever tier ticket you buy for Ozzfest you get another one for free. |
Liz, you should do a box set listening party for that too! I'd definitely make it to that one! |

I saw Belladonna about a year ago, and definately hasn't lost it yet. He was dead on with all the Anthrax songs he played. I can't wait to see him with Anthrax. |
dan spitz is my hero
i will throw myself at him and hope he loves me |
I saw Anthrax with Iron Maiden in 89-90 when Anthrax was on the "Persistence Of Time" tour. Killer show when your 13/14 years old. |
