this will be the best show we ever play.
Sunday Jan 16th:
Envy (Japan)
Malady (ex-Pg 99)
Disappearer (ex-There were wires)
As Long As We're All Living, We're All Dying
@Great Scott (at the corner of Harvard and Comm. ave in Allston)
This show starts at 8:30 and is 18+
http://www.honeypump.net for more info
*It should be noted that this is the first 18+ show we've ever played. Its not something I'm happy about at all, in fact I kind of feel like a jerk, but I/we were so honored to be offered a spot on this amazing show we couldn't turn it down. Envy is an incredible band. If you aren't old enough to attend this show I promise I will somehow make it up to you. |
|

|
damn. such a good show. alawalwad were having some mic troubles, but sounded good regardless. disappearer were very good, for fans of latter day there were wires. malady were good, not as good as i expected however. but envy fucking blew my mind. i was in awe for their entire set. one of my new favorite bands. hopefully, one day theyll come back. |
|
damn it... the roads were so snowy.. I don't think any one was plowing anything...
even though every 15 minutes, I had to go around a convoy of plows.
pictures are uploading. |
|
i already gave him both typos
lol |
|
I don't know what you are talking about.
I never spell anything rong evah. |
|
true, aaron is the king of teh speel rite. |
|
not to mention its just disappearer, not the disappearer. |
|

|
DAMMIT. carina, you are faster than i will ever be. |
|
heh, thats. the funny thing is that I snapped most of those pictures just during the encore. I was finally able to get up to the stage and all. |
|
I drove to the show in amazing ammounts of snow. it started off great... as I slid through the NH toll booth at hampton and had to park to run back and pay the guy. But once passed that, it was cool driving, pretending I was in starwars and going at lightspeed. As I got closer to Boston, I turned in 90.3 WZBC and listened to a bunch of industrial music on a show called the industrical factor or something like that. they played DSBP discs which was cool.
the club was really cool. it was like one of 10000000 "upscale" boston bars, but the walls aren't covered with sports bs. they are covered with cool photographs.
as long as were all living were all dying: I walked in just as they were starting their set. I was standing right beside sam at the start and then jonah after a few minutes so I heard them yelling with out the mics.. didn't even notice there was nothing coming through the ps until someone said something. their set was super super short. I snapped some shots, people danced, and then I went to switch cameras (and then had to switch battieres). by the time I was done, they were done too. sucks! the goat was there (from the band catalyst) and he liked alawalwad alot. I talked to jonah after the show and he said he might want to do a alawalwad/anodyne set on RTTP in april!
the disappearer: sort of the low-key part of the night. great stuff, but people jsut sort of stand and stare with they play. I kept having flash backs to the show with conifer.. and now I want to see conifer!
malady: exactly what I expected from them. i've heard the cd so.. I knew what I was in for. I know a lot of people saw ex-PG99 and got a huge-ass boner to see this band. live it wasn't really much. the cd is emo-ish with just enough tech to keep it semi-interesting.
envy: oh man... I thought that they were a punk-ish hardcore band. I was definitely thinking of the wrong band. they rocked. if mogwai's CDs sounded like that, they would stil be good. they were screaming one minute, spacey sonic space rock the next. It was so tight. at the end of 45 minutes of rocking out, they got off the stage, went to the back and everyone cheered them on. they came out and played one final song, rounding out their hour long set. oldly, some of their melodies reminded me of misery signals... their engrish was bad, but they really wrote some awesome songs with interesting soundscapes.
on the way home, I listened to DaveSTF on 88.9 WERS. he does the nasty habbits show there. I know alot of people this "he's just into hardcore". well, you'd be wrong. he played an awesome set.

the only thing I an fault him for is the H20 song. I started listening at the end of the forsaken song and stuck it out to mandatory suicide. I even got a shout out. |
|
do you think the bands and the other show-goers really appreciate your bright fucking flash and the red crosshairs going off every 5 seconds? I thought I was going to get a migraine. plus, you're in the way and there were people who paid $9 to see these bands, and they just wanted to enjoy the show. I personally drove 22hrs and spent about $200 to be there. at times you stood right in front of me without saying "excuse me" or asking if you could get in front of me, and you're taller so I couldn't see. way to be inconsiderate. people like you are ruining hardcore. |
|
I wish I was ruining anything. I do say "excuse me" and "sorry" when getting around. whether or not you heard me or I saw you, I don't know. I am very considerate if I see someone and try to get in, get my shot and then move away.
and if you are complaining about some one standing in front of you for a minute at a show, you should think about how Bert felt when that lady with the huge hat sat in front of him for the WHOLE MOVIE. there are plenty of other things to bitch about.
honestly, I'm surprised this is the first time I've read someone complaining about this. I thought it would have happened sooner. I can stand photographers when I'm at a show and I absolutely hate flashes. |
|
way to be anonymous idiot...
first off people are HAPPY that the rev goes to shows
people are CONSTANTLY asking him to go to shows and are happy when the photos get on here..
he moves around when taking pics ..so he stood in front of you for a minute..big fuckin deal... wah wah wah
and to make an ignorant statement that he's "ruining" the scene shows me how stupid you really are when the opposite is true..he's done a lot for it
you are the inconsiderate and ignorant asshole here.. |
|
I want to ruin something...
time to burn things. |
|
yeah, i gotta say im pretty damn happy i have all of these band photos to look at from shows from the past 4 years. christ, im more than happy to have revvy rev get in front of me to take photos, cus i get to grab his petite ass.
yeah, aaron probably was in front of you for a total of 5 minutes at a time. its not like he stays in the sam spot for the entire show. |
|
someone sniffed some pentagon issued faggaton gas... but they still came to this site so ha! |
|
because they wanted to se themselves on here and post pics in their LJ |
|
LJ? way to be 2000.
maybe they could post it on a bullent in IRCII?
more like for their myspace. |
|
the funny thing, I was only "right" up front for the encore. however, the 3-4 people that were stage center, upfront for the whole set, all had cameras and were snapping pictures the whole time. |
|
that was entirely too lame !
i want my two dollars back ! |
|
whatever. good show, thanks for shooting aaron.
I was kind of sick and wasn't playing with much confidence, but I think it still sounded alright. even though the mics were off..(??)
I <3 envy
Im gonna go post about it in my lj, l8erz guys |
