So far the only one I've heard is My Pet Demon, who do that 80s punk/metal sound.

Any other bands? I'll be a happy camper.

Not to blow my own horn (if I could do that, I'd never leave my house), but after our set last night, I was told that we (Gunmen) are very Motorhead-esque.

Your mileage may vary.

Inepsy from Montreal is Mötorhead worship.

I, Destroyer from Providence have a very Venom/Bathory sound.

Inepsy is Motorhead worship. That's it.
RAOV doesn't sound like Motorhead, no even close.
I,Destroyer HAVE NOT a very Bathory/Venom sound, they might like these bands but they don't sound even close like them. I think Nefarious have more that Venom/Bathory sound than I,Destroyer and even that, it's not obvious.
The Gunmen as far as I remember are not Motorhead-esque.
Bands that are not from around here that you need to check out if you want the Venom/Bathory sound: TOXIC HOLOCAUST, and the new HIGH ON FIRE is defenitely more Motorhead than anything.

But I do have Lemmy's moustache.

I would say Kevorkians Angels minus the singer.

Listen to Anne, she knows what she's talking about.

The only local band I know off hand that sounds like MOTORHEAD is CRASH AND BURN. There are no local bands that sound like VENOM :( (Though I guess CRASH AND BURN has covered them).

Non-locally, listen to SUPERCHRIST. Everyone.http://www.superchrist.net

ROAVs vocals have a little bit of a young lemmy quality at times i think.

toggletoggle post by armageddonday   at Jan 10,2005 12:41pm
I don't know about that....I might have to see ROAV and listen to On Parole again. Lemmy's voice is Lemmy's voice, can't think about that many vocalists who come even close from his vocals.

Weird.

I think some parts of Kevorkian's Angels' songs have a motorhead-ish feel to them

toggletoggle post by armageddonday   at Jan 10,2005 1:41pm
yeah maybe here and there....mostly cause of the bass then

They're Motorhead influenced. Obviously they dont sound like a carbon copy but they have that Dirty Love going.
