toggletoggle post by JusticeACR   at Jan 5,2005 3:48pm
ya, i had a friend of mine who was going to a show at this same venue, he couldn't find it though, hopefully other ppl won't have a hard time getting to it

toggletoggle post by the_taste_of_cigarettes  at Jan 5,2005 3:58pm
It's right off mass ave.

literally, you go down mass ave away (northwest) from Boston, take a right on Mystic St, take a quick Left on Winslow.

piece of cake. Plus ample free parking.

It's on the 77, 79, 350, bus lines and accessible by the 67 bus line

where the hell is arlinrton? does the T go there?

toggletoggle post by Hooker  at Jan 5,2005 4:01pm

Swampy - remember that town you were in last night, Cambridge? It's the next town over.

At one point it was named "West Cambridge".

Simply follow Mass Ave from anywhere.

Also it is about a 3/4 mile walk on the Bike Path from the red line, Alewife stop.

Buses
77 - runs from harvard square
79, 350, 67 - run from Alewife

bump... this show is something you do not want to miss

toggletoggle post by Cryptic Anthony at Jan 10,2005 1:18pm
bump...

and, is there a flyer for this show? I'd like to put some up in Cambridge, since its close to Arlington, some people might be interested if they see the flyers.

I'd make one myself, but I'm in the middle of finals right now and don't really have the time.

toggletoggle post by i_am_not_me   at Jan 10,2005 2:09pm
I'll talk to Bassil, see if he can get a flyer made.

If I still had Photoshop (Or at least had the hard drive space to get it again) I'd do it myself.

Review!

*Verloren - the guitar players for this band were pretty good, and did some cool harmonies. The drummer wasn't as advanced as the string players, so it kinda held them back. They do a CoB cover for anyone that likes CoB.

*Moonshine - This is one of the better sets I've seen them play. Think groovy, slowed down Pantera or like Tool mixed with Crowbar if they were happier and sang about dungeons and Lynyrd Skynyrd lyrics.

*Revengeance - not too bad. My first time seeing them. I think Nick went overboard with saying the F word every 2 seconds, but it's good that there's music coming from A-town and that there's bands organizing shows and such.

*The Network - one of their sloppiest sets, but the crowd seemed to like them. There was hard moshing. There was some cool footage of the guitarist Pete completely flipping out, jumping off the drums, and belly flopping onto his pedals.

*A Cold Reality - I'm not an ACR fan. Many people are. For these people, they were going crazy. I must admit, they've improved considerably since last time I saw them when they played Lexington

*Cryptic Warning - It would be cool if they played all the KoC shows. There was only like 10 people left when they started, but the blistering solos drew in at least 10 more as the set went on. The new material is dope! They borrowed equipment and I don't think that was for the better, but it did speed up set-up time.

Thanks so much to Bassil for setting this show up and for providing the drums and other necessities, and to Nick from Revengeance for letting me use his awesome rig and to Justin for letting us use his amp.

All the bands were good and we had a good time. The show had cleared out by the time we went on, and the snare Phil was using was way too quiet, but it was awesome nontheless.

toggletoggle post by i_am_not_me   at Jan 16,2005 2:22pm
Cigarettes - That was NOT Verloren. That was Mortalis. And they had a better drummer, but had to bring that guy back since the better drummer couldn't make it.

Yeah, Nick went a bit overboard. But he's the only one that felt like doing any talking. (I would've had I not worn out my voice with those "METAL!!!" screams for the mic checks...hahaha)

And if Phil was using Bassil's snare and not his own (I didn't get a close enough look), that snare normally isn't even close to that quiet.

toggletoggle post by Cryptic Anthony at Jan 16,2005 3:14pm
That was definitely Bassil's snare. Maybe it just didn't sound strong in that room or something, because I could barely hear it when Revengeance was playing either.

Either way, it's a great kit and we appreciate using it.

I like the swiss cheese crash.

More people should take photos so hen the rev can't make a show, there's pics to point at online.

if I had a digicam, I'd have done it. :/ not having money sucks balls

toggletoggle post by Justin ACR at Jan 17,2005 9:26pm
Thanks to Bassill and the dudes from Revengeance for setting this up. one big FUCK YOU to whoever fucked with my amp before we played. I was warming up the tubes before our set and someone must have messed with the settings, cuz they were all changed. I didn't realize it until after the set. Thats why the guitars sounded so muddy. I changed the EQ before Cryptic Warning, so they had a way better tone off my amp, then I did. Thanks to all who came down and showed there support!

toggletoggle post by i_am_not_me   at Jan 17,2005 11:48pm
Yeah, the only pics I know that were taken didn't come out too great. Could've just been our disco lighting fucking with it, though...hahaha.

This show and that lexington show have to rank in our top 5 worst sets every played. Sorry you had to catch us on these nights. Hopefully you'll get to see us play better in the future!
