...how do I get this shit louder?? is there such thing as an "impedence converter" or a way to juice the signal up to make it push the cab better?

get a new cabinet is the easiest solution. i think there might be impedence converters, but i'm not certain. but definately your best bet is to get a 4 ohm cabinet.

yeha I hear that. I've been trying but nothing seems to be 4 ohm anymore. Any recommendations?

I want one of those vipers or some shit. Right now I run the Ampeg for tone, and at full volume it's ok, but man it can't even come close to the Behringer that's 8ohms...clearly louder.

Or you can get 3 more 16 ohm cabs(crate,&peavy cabs run @16ohms), and that will bring it to 4 ohms. That will be sick, 16 12" speakers.
Do you guys got a big van?

hahahah I am so glad you asked that.

we just bought a fucking sick van and installed a loft bed so we can put equipment under it. wanna see pics once we get them uploaded? I'm eager to show it to someone outside the band :P

Dude get a marshall 1960 cab($580) it runs 16/8/4 ohms, its got gt75's celestions, you cant go wrong with celestions. Or get the sun 4X12 its got the same speakers as the marshall but sells for $100 cheaper than the marshall!!! (but it only runs 16/4 ohms.)

oooh I've seen SUNs in action and they sounded great...Breather / Resist used them on tour.

Who is Sun? I don't know much about them.

Sun is either owned or was bought by fender corp.

Like next to every gear company.
SUNN amps are extreemly warm sounding, very vintage, a 15 watt practice amp weighs like 60 lbs. they are tanks.
weak crossovers though, learn to solder if your going to buy one.

4 ohm cabs have more volume, but they don't push as much air at as fast a rate as an 8 or 16. Experiment with different cab construction to see wich projective box works best for your sound. experiment with different types of speakers.
