if they'd just lose the correct member and get rid of those AWFUL vocals.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 13,2004 6:48pm
I like the newer vocals better than the old "skwaking vulture" vocals.
but didn't they just lose their guitarists last tour?
who do they think they are as i lay dying?

toggletoggle post by Inailedyourgirlfriend at Sep 13,2004 7:22pm
i like the vocals

toggletoggle post by attendmyrequiem at Sep 13,2004 7:23pm
i hate the emo fruitness durring the opeth parts... actually i think it's the guitarist that sings those, but if they got a vocalist that could sing clean without sounding like a member of taking back sunday i'd be all for it.

toggletoggle post by blue  at Sep 13,2004 8:03pm
i think the old vocals were way better. he used to do death growls, remember?

i think that if btbam keeps this revolving door of members up(considering they now only have 2 original members), they should just call it a day.

then we can have a prayer for cleansing reunion for good.

say what you want about btbam, but their guitar players are fucking sicker than AIDS. i hate the mellow parts, but can't turn away cause the guitars are so sick. gonna be a hard job to fill.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 13,2004 9:14pm
listening to raising kubrick..
blue goes for the same tone a lot (IMHO)

both btbam and glass casket are trash. its only fitting that the guitarist is filling in for the band his old band blatantly rips off.

toggletoggle post by hoser at Sep 13,2004 10:46pm
Just for the record......I am Jake and I did not post this. I think that BTBAM are quite talented.....quite fucking sick. Glass casket i'm not into though.

btbam is horrendously boring.
i dont care how telented they are.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Sep 14,2004 11:13am
i bought their first cd and hated it from the first note. by the time it got to the power metal vocals that thing was in the trash.

toggletoggle post by Jellyfish at Sep 14,2004 2:05pm

definetly a big influence in my playing.
the mainstay guitar player (paul) is a fantastic player, hes got incredible technique.

it's funny you say that since glass casket were together before BTBAM. go check out gadrel or whatever they called themselves before that.

toggletoggle post by Robteratism at Sep 14,2004 6:43pm

toggletoggle post by jake at Sep 14,2004 9:03pm
its funny how everyone in both glass casket and btbam has sex with one another. trashhhhhhh.

toggletoggle post by Hooker  at Sep 14,2004 9:10pm
man. tours must be crazy

I really like BTBAM's first album. Good stuff. Even the clean vocal parts. And the power metal vocals sound like they're supposed to be joke. They show up in one song for like a 10 second segment. Definitely doesnt get my panties in a bunch. Now the clean vocals on the Silent Circus... good god that shite sounds so freakin horrible. And lyrics are wack too. "These tears will not rest on this pillow~~~" What in the hey-all? oh well.

Couple tracks i heard of Glass Caskett were pretty lame.

i love the newer one (self titled right) and even tho i hated the couple emo parts at first, even those have grown on me in the context of the song. silent circus i heard only a couple tracks, i didnt like it at all and i couldnt even recognise it as the same band. well theres my two cents

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Sep 15,2004 12:44am
i liked their old stuff, but can't stand that little emo guy on vocals. the power metal part in "aspirations" is awesome.

toggletoggle post by vivi at Sep 15,2004 1:41am
i remember hearing this and thinking it was ok and that the clean part kicks in. WHAT THE FUCK!?

toggletoggle post by blue nli at Sep 15,2004 10:35am
yeah man, the power metal scream on the first cd is what made me fall in love with them in the first place. silent circus cant compare at all. the vocals and diversity in musical styles are superior on the first cd, what happened to the slams and death growls? they decided they were too core for it?

oh yeah, and glass casket sucks my nards.

Some of the music on The Silent Circus is good, some parts sound like Opeth and some riffs are like Cryptopsy. Of course, they're no where near as good as their influences are. Those vocals are absolutely the gayest thing ever next to the little boy vocals that Shutdown does.

There's one track on the self titled where they try to slam. I couldn't stop laughing when I heard it. Sounds like HxC kids who just heard Devourment or something. The low vocals remind me of On Broken Wings for the fact they're a hxc band attempting to encorporate a DM influence into their sound and it fails.

there good shit there guitar playes is off the chain.

toggletoggle post by jake at Dec 9,2004 12:34pm
^gay

btbam should just give it up.

toggletoggle post by mOe at Dec 9,2004 12:48pm
hey xtc...do you have that name because you like the band???

toggletoggle post by tbone_r  at Dec 9,2004 2:22pm
asks the kid who has the same name as an awful college rock band

toggletoggle post by mOe at Dec 18,2004 12:41am
umm...i have that name because its..uhh...my name...college hippie/yuppie rock sucks...fucking pop punk is where its at, dude!
Anyway, I happen to think Glass Casket is pretty good. Anyone who's heard them has heard the one song on the cd that sounds like BTBAM, and that sucks because everyone's just writing them off as trying to be like them. I've been listening to the cd since the summer and have to say it sounds like a great mix of Burnt By the Sun and Suffocation. Dont get me wrong, its undoubtedly metalcore (which i dont have a problem with at all) but the between the buried and me influence is slim to none outside of that one song, "Between the Sheets"...but what do i know, i'm not True enough

toggletoggle post by mOe at Dec 18,2004 12:44am
P.S. i asked that question because XTC is my favorite band
