the problem with us covering that is, well, I really like that song. A friend and myself got a copy of the Carmina Burana and were like THIS IS SOME EVIL SHIT and then we read the lyrics to O Fortuna, and I don't know if you ever read them, but they are fucking borderline deadly. It's all about how life kicks you in the stomach and stomps on your hopes and dreams, how fate can lift you up but throw you right back down harder than it did before.

That coupled with the immensity of the piece (it is one of the most memorable operatic songs, as well as the most widely used for effect) meant we had to perform it.

It was a hard call whether or not we should play it, cause there's so much pressure in modern "extreme" music to be so groundbreaking, which we do try to do more out of what we consider a necessity (sink or swim, in some ways) of the genre. We did it once at our 3rd show, and we've gotten requests for it then. Botch did cover it, but we also felt like not doing something because someone else had pioneered it wouldn't be so true to ourselves.
