Even today the tea party, which started out as a non-partisan group of anti-neocons has been subverted and turned into the political arm of fox news and has drowned out the original sane voices with the insane war-hawk squawking of racism, jingoistic nationalism, and born-again fundamentalism. How many tea-party/republicans would change their political party if they found out every founding father was a non-christian in the sense of how they see themselves as christians, in fact even madison and jefferson took every chance they could to insult and mock establishment christianity.
