So it is safe to assume that any culture that is "placed" in an area where they will not be liked is (as reverend says)a "sticky situation" ?
I really do not forsee a complete solution to this Gaza conflict. You really have to look past the mainstream media here in the states and understand the Palestinian point of view. They feel like they're being overwhelmed, owned, lied to, and abused by Israeli nationalists. They have the right to be angry in my eyes.
Hypothetical situation:
Boston is a small country in itself, as is New England. Boston is surrounded by New England and is under constant pressure day in and day out. Every now and then some of Boston's citizens throw rocks, fire missiles, etc into New England to send them a message to back off. New England counters by sending their far superior Air Force in and bombing the shit out of Boston, while surrounding the city with ground forces. This is their message to Boston to stop. I'd say FUCK YOU, I'M FROM BOSTON AND WILL DIE BY MY SWORD. Eh? amirite?

Okay, my lunch break has been consumed. Thanks

How does one nation with third-world technology fight a nation with first-world technology?

Answer is in American or Vietnamese revolutions... with more expendable troops and more portable tactics.

Most wars now are fought with the AK-47 and the RPG-7. They're cheap, portable, reliable and can do enough damage... just enough.

The solution is to keep the two separate. Otherwise, abuse occurs. The third-world population is used for bulk labor, and they hate the first world population, who at the same time hates them for their lower intelligence, higher crime, and the eventual revolution that will use their greater numbers to eliminate the first world population.

End result: a third world population.

It's good for no one.

I realize it seems terrible that Israel is bombing kids, schools, etc. But even with high accuracy weapons, errors occur -- what was marked "washing machine plant" has become a school, or was mismarked.

Palestinians keep launching unguided weapons into Israel, which are completely terrifying because they hit at random.

Israel has to respond if they want to stay together at all as a state. If they think critically about it, they will drive the Palestinians out and mow their own lawns (wash their own dishes, nurse their own kids) instead.
