[band=sunnO)))]: so, they set up, do a last sound check, and play some ambient CD for 15 minutes while they arre off doing something. During this time, the lights are all off. The ambient/movie sound track being played slowly thumps and thunds in a ultra low pulse, gut clenching and drawing out and then changing every 5 to 10 seconds. They finally emerge from the back in full robes. in the backm they start messing with pedals and what not. The music plays on the ears more like the sound track to forbidden planet than drown. And if the 10 cabs weren't enough, one of the mad monks drags out two more which stand like 2001's monoliths in the front of the stage. I started snapping pictures which lasted all of one minute and then they told a security guard to tell me no flash. The guard knew who I was since my face was being illuminated by the constant flashes from the crowd, including many SLRs, lame. I went around in front and tried to time myself to take a picture when someone's flash would go off.. That is until the frequencies started making me neauseous. They moved on stage as slow as the music they were playing. It only seems appropriate that they were dressed like monks.
so after about 45 minutes of pain, I headed to the back and took off. their set was good... but after too long, it's sort of like watching paint dry. I was also annoyed about flash hypocricies... on the way out, my head felt like it was full of cottage cheese and this morning, it feels like my ears are cramped.
