PART I
were here to kill you: they started off being a bit noisy, but then they broke a string and came back with drumming in the vein of American Analog Set with screaming.

moment: I went to my car and some 7 year ld kid said "Iron Maiden" to me. but I was greated at as220 with the sound of white noise as it poured out of the building. I guess I missed the set cause when I got in, 2 guys dressed like the guy making all the noise very beating each other up on the floor. The noises I likened to merzbow if cabaret voltaire did it.

the traps: 3-piece rock band with everyone singing a bit. The drummer didn’t have hi-toms on the kick drum and he played the top of the kick like a block of wood. That was weird.

nefarious: amazing! Think darkthrone with excellent production or Marduk mixed with Death crush and done by Americans. The drummer was so bad ass that he needed an assistant. It was awesome. Trust me, check these guys out.

urdogs: drowny space rock ala darla records blissout series. For the first could songs, the synth-organ was so annoying. It would just bust out of nowhere and too loud. After that it mixed into the drummer and guitarist. They somehow reminded me of tiger saw too.

get killed: American nightmare mxed withhold school hc punk. Featuring the guitarist of a.d.julliet as the singer. They were very fun live.

another dead julliet: I don’t remember them sounding so nu-shool hardcore before. They are off for two months (minus one other show) to make a new cd. Hope they send me a copy of it.

4horse: seems like an extremely natural progression… slint into june of 44 into 4horse. This band is awesome. They rock out and I swear I’m going to hear they yell out “sharks and sailors” during one of their sets.. someday…

INTERMISSION

I went to the Armageddon shop and bought some new stuff for my radio show. Some s.c.d., defleashed, and others.

PART II: looks like the bank was made. I would have to say that 600 people must have paid to get in. this place was 100% packed ever where.

football rabbit: loud rock with a drum machine in the place of a real drummer. It was actually really good. They got a lot out of that drum machine and you should have heard the sick double bass, guy.

advocate: hm.. not the guitar player I know and brian (bass player from backstabbers inc) was replaced too.. weird… They brought everyone up on stage with them. That made it tough to take pictures, but the show was good, sounding like converge one minute and then having s.e.h.c. changeups the next. The singer was more serious and les funny then he was a few weeks ago at the met café. If you haven’t seen these guys yet, check them out soon. I guess they are calling it quits in 2 more shows. Or wait for the reunion in 8 months at a benefit show.

the nightmare continues: the bass player barely missed me 2x; my camera is happy about that and so am I. They are on of the coolest bands in RI right now. They mix up death grind with slow interludes when people slow dance. The first few times I saw them, it was a little hard standing for the slow parts, but it seems like the hard parts are just getting more brutal and the slow parts shorter.

suffering bastard: Sooo… why was there red stuff all over the side of my nose when I got home? I still don’t ‘get’ these guys, but it’s cool to see them again. RI kids go crazy for them. Maybe I need to hear them recorded. Chris (lead guy) put out a tarp and proceeded to dump fake blood all over him self. Luckily, only a little splashed on my camera. I think he puts something in that red water other than food coloring cause it was a little sticky and hard to clean off a lens.

midnight creeps: they sounded like the 1980 glam punk; adolescents meets crass. The lead singer was all gimmick gimmick gimmick with electrical tape and sticker clothing. For some reason, I thought this form of music died with miss wendy o’williams. Though on the plus side, since it was 100000000000000000 degrees in there, I bet the singer was the only person not-roasting in that club. I was kind of grossed out cause the front row of girls kept wagging their tongues at the band.

white mice: 100’s of kids packed into a small tight little hallway to see these guys. Loopy noise rock. Like the locust meets a blender/washing mashing. These guys were hilarious cause of the masks of the masks they wear.

vincebus eruptum: totally hilarious. The singer came out like a rock star, waaaaaay over dress for the million degrees in that place and with a rockstar whig on. He slid all over the place and constantly fell while singing along to the v.e. hit song “who farted?”.

the deterrents: remember that band I didn’t like in high school? Well, they became the deterrents. I really can’t give a better review than that. If you are curious, that band was the royal crowns.

drop dead: RI Institution, these guys played awesome. I stayed up front for a little while, but them had to go into the back cause I couldn’t hear Bob’s vocals at all (we were way behind the pa). It was also a billion degrees in there. All the kids in there went crazy for dd. It’s great to see, especially since they’ve been around for soooo many years.

lightning bolt: all I can say is “sea of fucking people”. This band was the reason that most many people came down to this show. There were so many people that that I found myself unable to get a place to take good shots so I just tried to take a few shots of the crowd to show you just how many damn people there were there. I’m a big fan of lightning bolt and this was my first time seeing them. They were awesome.

the chinese stars: ok, I want to once again say, they sucked. I really do not get and don’t like their music. Which sucks cause I liked arab on radar. Spock Rock and I are starting a club for people for like AoR and don’t like TCS. It’s funny how the singer floated all lite on his toes with 10 girls in tow.

mahi mahi: I was expecting the faint and I got more like a voltron robot. The singer had a mic that messed up his voice, I think I had a toy mic that did that when I was a kid. I loved that thing…er.. though by “a kid” I mean “one or two years ago” I wonder whatever happened to that thing.
