looks like they renovated this place since the last time I was here. now there are big couches and TVs which is cool.. except for the fact that they were playing MTV. I watched a bunch of yo-mtv-raps videos and wanted to vomit.

crotalus: this is the "other" band of the guys in the band blistered earth. the bassplayer/singer and both guitarists (one of them on drums in this band). The singer actually sounds a lot more like hatfield than blistered earths... I did think that was possible. his voice was a little roughed up from practice the night before. they sort of sounded like old metallica mixed with a lot of early slayer. Actually the second to last song's leading riff was very close to the one in angel of death (which KMFDM also stole and put in 99% of all their songs). they ended with trooper. and the best part is the PA came on with an Iron Maiden song after them.

red right hand: first off, I'm not really a fan of these guys. I don't really dig the talk-singing vocals. anyhow, they played a cover "black magic" for their 3rd song. that was cool cause I've only heard it covered once before. they played some songs off a new CD that is coming out. the guitar-riffs we a lot more interesting and "mature" from other things that they have done before. also, the basslines were a lot better and stood out more. in some parts they were even a touch groovey.

meliah rage: for those of you who saw them at the bombshelter late last year, you got ripped off. they were so much better this time. the old tracks were spot on.. well.. except for the singer's vocals. they were off. I think he might have had a cold or something.

candy striper death orgy: I was outside for the beginning of their set, but I came inside after a song. they got a pretty long set. it's coolto see arrick druming now compared to when he came back to CSDO last year. he's goten a lot better.

overkill: Their set was really good. they played a bunch of newer tracks that I really didn't know. Still, they had the stage presense that overkill is renound for. Excellent playing, funny stories and all. anyhow, I sort of tuckered my self out I guess. Basically, overkill playing "deny the cross" was the whole reason I wanted to really go to this show... after shooting, I went and sat down waiting... 15 minutes I woke up, having missed the encore! I don't even know if they played deny the cross.. I can't believe I fell asleep!
