Fairly boring death metal. I've never understood albums like this. Just keeps slamming you in the face and doesn't let up. Obviously they're good musicians-- why do they waste their time churning out this type of stuff? If you like brutality for its own sake you might like this, but if you're looking for something engages you in some way, get something else.
This is the only Kataklysm album I own. I don't mind all that much. The production is stellar. I think there are some cool ideas but at times the album feels slightly reduntant unfortunately. Overall this album has lots of high points and a minimal of lows but for die hard fans, I can imagine thier dislike in comparision to earlier material.

Kataklysm was Sylvain Houde. He made the band what it was and set it apart from other death metal bands. When he left, or was kicked out or whatever the story was Kataklysm didn't have the song writing talent to stay above the pack and ever since they have sounded just like every boring redundant death metal band in existance. Sylvain did in what the new line up could never replicate in their entire lifetime over the span of just 1 e.p. and 2 full lengths.
