I like this album quite a bit. The previews we had teased too much, cause the singles I heard #2 and #9 work so much better in full context with this CD rather than just hearing them seperate. Solid Cryptopsy album. There wasn't any significant reinvention of their sound since they really took something from each album previous. Worm's vokills arn't necessarily as devasting as NSV, it's more of a throw back to BMF in terms of tempo and pitch, but his lyrics are still sharp and seem to repersent more of a purifying experience through being reborn into Cryptopsy. Still his poetic prowess is ever so keen to capture a mood throughout the disc that expresses and illustrates the cover art brillantly. Overall the sound feels very dark, it could be the most evil sounding album they've ever done. Flo tops himself again, displaying probably the finest blasts he's ever laid down, still never shy to incorporate a flashy jazz roll here and there. I think his snare sounds better than anything on all of the previous albums. Overall, it's not my favorite Cryptopsy album but it justifies their sound and pleasures everyone for various reasons.
