Kataklysm's e.p that came out before this was as brutal as can be, flat out heavy in your face and very fast. Sorcery was their first full length and although only slightly less heavy than the e.p. it is still damn heavy and a landmark in death metal. The lyrics of most of Kataklysm's stuff is based on H.P. Lovecraft ideas and not just the same old death and corpses and gore that every death metal band does. This is pretty heavy and it will take a few weeks of listening to memorize it but once you do it is worth it. The song arangements are weird at times but that is what makes this cd unique. This is a must have for lovers of extreme music. Heavy and complex and well written musical structures that once learned are full of catchy hooks and adrenaline rushes for the listener. 9/10
