Home to many of progressive rock and metal's leading acts, InsideOut Music is casting a spotlight on some of the genre's biggest names and brightest hopes for the future with their 2011 Winter Sampler - and in the spirit of giving, the compilation can be downloaded for free via Amazon [click here for a direct link to the album] and Zune.
Highlights of the 12-song compilation (see track listing below) include Genesis guitarist and Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Steve Hackett, two tracks from the Devin Townsend Project, Redemption (featuring Fates Warning frontman Ray Alder on vocals), Leprous (Emperor frontman Ihsahn's solo band), Pain of Salvation, and tracks from emerging artists Beardfish, Jolly and The Safety Fire.
