Subject: PRIESTESS Sign To Tee Pee Records For US Release Of Prior To The Fire
Posted by: PRIESTESS Sign To Tee Pee Records For US Release Of Prior To The Fire by the_reverend on Oct 22,2009 4:09pm
BraveWords.com has received the following press release:

Electrifying hard rock band PRIESTESS has signed to NYC’s Tee Pee Records. The Montreal-based group will issue its sophomore album, Prior To The Fire, in February, 2010.

(Note: the album is available now in Canada via Indica Records/Red Ink)

Recorded in Los Angeles with producer David Schiffman, Prior To The Fire underlines Priestess’ hard-hitting songwriting, memorable hooks and earth-shaking ability to rock. With a sound built upon a resolute sense of purpose and shaped by hundreds of explosive live shows, Priestess’ Prior To The Fire is an electric recording, bringing to light a colorful pool of both creativity and innovation.

The follow up to 2006’s debut Hello Master, Prior To The Fire sees Priestess at once hungry, fierce and focused. The record’s majestic power merges titanic riffs, memorable metal, progressive rock and hard psych elements with the powerful, expressive vocals of frontman / guitarist Mikey Heppner to create an album that will floor heavy music fans.

“It wasn’t the easiest record to make,” says Heppner. “But the hard work definitely paid off and we’re really, really proud of the end result. We’ve done so much touring and seen so much since our first record that it only galvanized our feelings of what the band is. The songs that make up “Prior To The Fire” were meant to be heard live and loud. We can’t wait to get out on tour again and really do them justice!”

In celebration of Prior To The Fire and its new label home, Priestess has announced a special NYC live performance as part of the 2009 CMJ Music Marathon. Priestess will join new label mates NAMM, NEBULA and more at Tee Pee’s CMJ day party on Thursday, October 22nd at Brooklyn’s Union Pool and will headline an absolutely stellar bill at the Tee Pee Records showcase on Friday, October 23rd at NYC’s Cake Shop.

Additionally, Priestess has announced December, 2009 US tour dates, giving fans a chance to hear the new songs previous to the release of Prior To The Fire.

The band’s song 'Lay Down' is currently featured in the video game Guitar Hero III; Legends of Rock and the new song 'Raccoon Eyes' (from Prior To The Fire) appears on the soundtrack to the wildly popular EA Sports game NHL 10.

In addition to Heppner, Priestess features Dan Watchorn (guitar, backing vocals), Mike Dyball (bass) and Vince Nudo (drums, percussion, backing vocals).
