Bio
PILEDRIVER...
the very name implies loud, obnoxious, pounding metallic rhythm. And that is exactly what Old School Thrash metal artist The Exalted Piledriver delivers! In late 1984, Piledriver's 'Metal Inquisition' album infested itself across an unsuspecting planet, surreptitiously setting the bar higher for obnoxious metalheads with a penchant for outraging parents and weaker souls around them, while influencing a whole new generation of metal-addled musicians. Darling-bastard-child of the nascent underground speed and thrash metal scenes, Piledriver shocked and awed with songs like 'Sex With Satan', 'Sodomize The Dead', 'Alien Rape', 'Witch Hunt' and 'Human Sacrifice' , while remaining a leather-veiled mystery of a man not seen since Alice Cooper's heyday, and not seen again until Marilyn Manson and Slipknot's rise. Garnering rave reviews and brisk sales (reportedly nearly 500,000 copies to date), Piledriver's Metal Inquisition became a respected and celebrated oeuvre-of-awful, even being voted by many critics as one of 1984's Best Metal Albums. While fans clamored for any tidbit of info on the band, the Piledriver camp remained mysteriously elusive. Occasionally, Piledriver's highly entertaining, twisted and humorous radio and magazine interviews fanned the fan-flames. Piledriver's second slab of vinyl 'Stay Ugly' slammed forth in 1986, a progression of aggression, with a trashier-thrashier sound. Songs like 'Metal Death Racer', Lord Of Abominations, 'Flowers of Evil' and 'The Executioner' maintained the sick level of humor, and fans were thrilled.
Then... He disappeared...
Two decades have passed since... during which we have been given compact discs, dvd's, aerosol cheese, rising violent crime, and most significantly, the internet. As the internet grew and became useful, Piledriver 's putrefaction was to be found in dank, dark nodes all over the web. In the chat rooms, in the review sites, in the blogs and in all the best-of lists, the legend of Piledriver grew and grew, demonstrating his undiminished evil appeal and amply proving that his audience was still there. The deafening years of silence have only served to fuel their craving for more Piledriver! Watching from the sidelines, The Piledriver himself agreed that the fans should have a fresh gutfull of Pile-meat to devour, and most important of all, LIVE SHOWS to serve it up to them, along with all the classicks from his past... So He searched the oldest, darkest cemetaries, and dug up the finest vampire zombie metal-heads (and what was left of their bodies) that he could find; grinning necromorph Glace Frothfritter rattling his bones on drums, soulless vampire Kinky Pork Cream decomposing all over his guitar, with El Lobo Elf Snort offensively rounding out this mob of musical death. Check out TONS of pictures of Pile's pack of undead metal miscreants HERE!!!> For your sick aural enjoyment you can find some of the demos on this page of blood-soaked songs from Piledriver's soon to spurt forth 'Metal Manifesto'. As you will hear, there is a certain musical evil in his voice that cannot be denied, as undeniable as the twisted hooks, virtuosic solos and the sheer pounding musicality of their writing; Old School meets Modern unlike in any other band! Recorded in his tiny home studio with an elastic band and some sticks, the demos showcase the inextinguishable fire that still burns within the angered artist. Imagine what putrescent power and malignant majesty could be achieved with a proper recording budget! It boggles the metal-head mind!!!! So... have a Look and a listen... LOUDLY of course... and become an integral part of the return of a true Metal Original!!!
