BRAZIL KICKS OFF 2007
WITH A TOUR
With Forgive Durden and Wax on Radio

Muncie, IN - With 2006 drawing to a close, so too does an exhausting year for Indiana rockers Brazil. With their Immortal Records debut, The Philosophy of Velocity, released in October ’06, followed by tours with Say Anything and Smile Empty Soul, there’s only one way for them to ring in 2007 with just as much excitement…. and that's to announce a headlining tour! “This one is going to have all our steam behind it,” proclaims band leader Jonathon Newby. “We’ve wanted to see what kind of damage we could do for a long time!”

Produced by Dave Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse), The Philosophy of Velocity has received rave reviews from the critics. Alternative Press says of the album, "“Name dropping the best of their peers can’t contain or adequately describe what they have created... This album is the wake-up call the world needs.” Revolver says that Brazil "evokes the grandeur of Yes, Queen, and early Genesis.” Industry bible All Music Guide writes, "Now boasting a sound as big as Brazil itself, a style as wonderfully extravagant as the movie they named themselves after, the group have taken rock in all its myriad moods to a whole new level, and themselves with it." Decoy calls the album, "an exciting and energetic journey into the heart of progressive indie rock, at times reminiscent of Muse, The Mars Volta and even the legendary Queen."

Enlisting Forgive Durden and Wax on Radio as support, Brazil will kick off the tour in February and comb the entire Midwest region including stops in Cleveland, Chicago and Minneapolis (tour dates below). Says Jonathon about their new and improved live show, “The way we do things now is more theatrical and drama-based, with a huge emphasis on connecting with people.”

So if you haven’t seen them yet, do yourself a favor and mark your calendars when they’re in town and kick off 2007 at full velocity!
